We Are Palestine: Kashmiri Artist Back at Work after Police 'Counselling'
Engaging the families is important says cop
SRINAGAR: A day since his release after “counselling” by the police in Srinagar, artist Mudasir Gul is back home and busy painting. Police on Saturday detained 20 people demonstrating against Israel’s attack on Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem and Gaza.
“Seventeen boys were handed over to families after counselling. They violated Section 51 of the DM Act by participating in protests during the lockdown,” a police official said. He said engaging the families is important to prevent youngsters going astray.
Gul, 32, had drawn a mural of a weeping woman with her head draped in the Palestinian national flag, with the words We Are Palestine graffitied on a water gateway in the city’s Padshahi Bagh area.
