VIPS all set to organise 2-day National Conference; 17 states to participate

NEW DELHI: The Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) is all set to organise a two-day national conference on ‘Women Empowerment, Skill Enhancement and Media: Prospects and Challenges’ on its campus . As many as 74 abstracts have been received from across 17 states .The Vivekananda School of Journalism and Mass Communication (VSJMC) is organising this conference on April 22 and 23.

The Dean, VSJMC, Dr Charulata Singh said, “As an institution we are happy that teachers from 17 states showed interest to participate in a conference that is meant to deliberate upon various women issues. It is an attempt to create an academic environment where academicians can share their researches and thoughts.”

The conference will be witnessing a participation of academic fraternity from the capital and states like Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Manipur, Andhar Pradesh, Telangana, Chhatisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Orissa, Maharashtra, Bihar, Assam and Hyderabad.

Researchers would deliberate upon myriad topics including women empowerment, women and skill enhancement, women and media, women and culture, women and economy, women and health, violence against women, institutional mechanism for advancement of women and women and policy formation.

VIPS, NAAC ‘A’ accredited institute, is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The VSJMC was established in 2001 and is one of the most sought after department.
