Businessman Abducted by New Militant Organisation in Assam

GUWAHATI: Suspected tribal militants abducted the owner of a construction company engaged in construction work of East West Corridor from Hatikhali area in Dima Hasao hill district on Sunday.
The police said the ab ducted person was identified as P Nareswarrao Reddy (51). He was travelling with another person from Lumding to Langting when they were waylaid by the militants.
The company was let off latter while Reddy was kept captive by the militants. Police suspected the hands of newly-formed Dima Hasao Liberation Army in abduction.
Earlier on Tuesday a saw mill owner, Rakhal Baishya and his manager, Sunil Banerjee were abducted by suspected militants from Kalachans under Maibong police station of Dima Hasao hill district.
The duo were yet to be released.
It may be mentioned that district administration had earlier made an appeal to businessman and under people who feel under threat from militants to make use of police security for their safety when they venture out of the safety of their home and offices.
