XIMB Announces Xpressions 2016

Xpressions is the three-day flagship business cultural festival of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar that commenced on the 11th and will go on till 13th of November at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. It is being held in association with title sponsor ‘Mindfire Solutions’. Each year thousands of students from B-Schools all over the country take part in it to showcase their ingenuity and simultaneously enjoy a plethora of cultural events that animates their senses.

The business games are a definite highlight of Xpressions and XIMB takes pride in the fact that it has pioneered real time business scenario simulation games spanning across different business modules as a part of its cultural festival. Gladiator, Kurukshetra, Skill City, Helios, and Spardha serve as the perfect platform to showcase one’s business skills. In the midst of all the fierce competition, Xpressions also helps the students unwind by the various cultural events it conducts. . Decibelz, a Battle of Bands, witnesses the participants performing different forms of rock; soft, metallic and grunge music. Goonj, the solo singing event discovers some of the finest melodious voices of the country, leaving the audience enthralled. Carnival De Vogue, the high end fashion show, witnesses students from different colleges walking down the ramp with great flair. Other spectacle events are Aaghaaz, the nukkad natak competition and Thirkan, the dance competition. Xpressions also witnesses Xansad, a parliamentary debate competition comprising of vigorous debate sessions across all the teams, giving a sneak peek into the diplomatic thinking and energetic approach of today’s youth.



Other events include Flight of Fancy, an event for literary enthusiasts, Pratibimb, a face painting competition, Inquizzitive, a business and a general quiz, and Case study competitions like Mpower, Maven, Case in Point, and Case connect conducted by the various functional committees, to challenge the participants to brainstorm and come up with unique solutions to real time business problems. Xpressions also sees participation in a film making competition- The Final Cut, Viraasat- A classical music extravaganza and numerous online events like Nirnay, Parikrama, Trade Wars and EnigmaX.



The first night of the fest was the Coke Studio Night, wherein the talented band Lagori enthralled the audiences with their spectacular performance and melodious tunes. This year Xpressions’16 will culminate with the Celeb night where the Celeblitz stage will be graced by the legendary trio Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy. This festival promises to be one of the biggest in the B-school circuit.
